After many year of clinical and research experience, Santa Monica chiropractor, Dr. Raymond Hall, has received three patents. Two patents are for therapeutic traction devices used for physical rehabilitation and therapy, and the other is for a cervical/sleep pillow designed to give comfort and support while sleeping. This Hall Vector System is an ambulatory (walking/running) traction unit. The patent numbers, 5,667,461 and 5,626,540, have received a total of 29 claims. A description of the device can be seen below:
The Hall Vector System is a decompressional traction machine that can be played above any treadmill, bike, etc. It is designed to decompress the spine from zero to one hundred percent of the patient’s body weight and is helpful to patients with herniated discs or bulges in their lower back. It is also helpful for those with hip, knee, or ankle arthritis, as well as any a patient recovering from knee and hip replacements, stress fractures, muscle and ligament strains, obesity, or any other condition that requires phasic decompressional rehabilitation.
Unlike other static devices, the Hall Vector System helps the body’s nervous system retain a sense of balance and coordination through a combination of movement and decompressional loads to the injured tissue. It has the unique ability to do this by helping the tissue unload at variable walking speeds. This increases the sensory awareness of your body’s joints and other connective tissue, which enables your body to heal faster. As opposed to conventional rehabilitation styles, the system also allows your body to return to “normal,” repetitive ground forces, giving it an improved neurophysiological healing response.
The Hall Vector System provides decompressional forces to the lower body, the lumbosacral spine, and other related connective tissues via an overhead support assembly. This allows for a horizontal linear displacement and a novel harness assembly suspended from the overhead support assembly in order to suspend and support the patient’s body.
Dr. Hall’s dual position cervical pillow, Pillo1, is his most recent patent and was patented on May 31, 2004. This uniquely designed pillow supports the head and neck when laying on either your back or your side.
